A camera brought to the Gungeon by a journalist. The camera is shaped enough like a gun to survive in the Gungeon's depths.

Camera is a gun that deals damage to all enemies in the current room after a short charge up time. Also knocks back enemies and slightly slows bullets in the air upon firing. After firing the gun, sparkles similar remain in the air for a few seconds.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Synergy.png Camera Shy - If the player has Chaff Grenade, the Camera has a chance to stun enemies.
  • Synergy.png Ice Cap - If the player also has Freeze Ray, the Ray freezes enemies much quicker.
  • Synergy.png Savior of the Universe - If the player has Flash Ray, it gains unlimited piercing, a thicker beam, one bounce, increased fire rate, and causes a Camera flash when reloading an empty magazine. Camera also fires two laser beams whenever fired.
  • Shooting the Camera will not activate mimics, damage chests, reveal secret walls, or break curse pots.
  • Firing this gun while standing in the doorway (close to the door, but before actually entering the room) can damage all enemies in the next room. This is a good way of clearing rooms without taking any damage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This gun may be a reference to the anime Speed Grapher. The main character, who is a journalist, uses a camera that explodes whatever he takes a picture of.
    • This gun could also be a reference to the camera from NetHack, which had a flash capable of scaring and blinding enemies.
    • This gun could also be a reference to the Camera Obscura from the survival horror game Fatal Frame where each shot can slow, stun, and damage ghosts.
    • This gun could also be a reference to the games Shoot the Bullet and Double Spoiler from the Touhou Project series, where characters Aya Shameimaru and Hatate Himekaidou use a camera in combat to damage enemies and cancel bullets after a charge-up time.
    • This gun could also be a reference to Spelunky, where the player can use a camera to stun and kill enemies.
