Misfire Beasts are invisible predators who use deadly bullet whips to attack their prey. In addition, they can make use of an unusual form of shooting called "Projection." This allows them to shoot phantom images of themselves to fool Gungeoneers' aim.

Misfire Beasts camouflage themselves and create a projection that chases the player and attacks them with bullet whips. The actual Misfire Beast will avoid the player.

Killing the projection will reveal the actual Misfire Beast, who lacks bullet whips. The actual Misfire Beast will also become more visible after taking damage.

Trivia

• This enemy is a reference to Displacer beasts from Dungeons and Dragons.
• If positioned properly, the Misfire Beast can fire its bullets through walls.
