Professor Goopton

Professor Goopton is an NPC that can be rescued from a cell in the Gungeon Proper or the Oubliette. After being rescued, he will set up shops in the Gungeon, where he will sell goop-themed items and guns with a 20% price discount. After purchasing something from his shop in the Gungeon, he will also move to The Breach, where new goop-themed items and guns can be unlocked with . A total of 146 is required to purchase everything.

Unlike other NPCs, his dialogue is written in Alienese, a substitution cipher from Futurama. The Sponge grants players the ability to understand him.

Trivia

• He is one of the few NPC's who will talk to the Cultist
  • This may be because he speaks a different language, and it would be a waste for time for the developers to translate each line of dialogue said to the Cultist when he tries to talk to most NPC's into Alienese.
• The Strafe Gun is somewhat out of place in his shop because it does not produce nor interact with goop in any way.
